Wishing it was Spring!

After a week of rain and cloudy weather we got some blue sky and sunshine here in Beaverton today!  There were a few moments where it actually felt like Spring.  Why can't it be Spring already?  I was wearing shorts, a t-shirt and my warm Ugg boots while Joe and I planted flowers outside of our front window. 

Here is Sadie tied up by the tree getting her relaxation in after a morning filled with playing ball at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

I just checked the forecast though and its clouds and rain again for tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Joe!

My boyfriend Joe turned 27 this week on the 27!  My parents and I got him a fishing pole, but I also wanted to do something creative for him.  So I decided to sew him a pillow case!  He enjoys western and cowboy themed stuff, so while fabric shopping with my mom and our friend Mary Ann I chose some great fabrics covered in cowboys and horse shoes.  I used a french seam on the sides so that there would be no raw edges and it turned out perfect.  

He loved it!

Valentine Wreaths and Horseshoes

After a day full of fabric store shopping with friends on Saturday, my mom and I decided to make the Valentine wreaths found on the Cherry Hill Cottage blog.  They were easy to make and turned out so cute!  It's just 2 inch squares of fabric pressed into a styrofoam heart using a pencil and a little glue.  Luckily my mom had a great stash of fabric for us to use!

I am not the only crafty person at my house though.

• Sewed our quilt blocks for our quilting club!
• Ran by Jo-Ann Fabric, 40% off all quilting books!
• Then headed to Craft Warehouse, all fabric on sale!
• Back at mom's, grilled cheese sandwiches and and soup!

 

Now we are back at home sunggling on the couch with Joe :)
